Does this account for leap years?
Yes. Total days, weeks, and hours come from actual elapsed time, so February 29 birthdays and leap-day spans are included automatically.
What about time zones?
Your browser's local time zone is used for both the birth date and "now," which matches what almost everyone wants. If you were born abroad and care about UTC, adjust the birth date by one day either direction.
